The DKV InstantFuel app replaces the physical fuel card. With it goes its biggest risk: stolen or copied cards at tampered card readers.

Which smartphone versions are supported?
iOS 15 or newer and Android 10 or newer. That covers all phones shipped in the last few years. You can find the exact device list in the App Store and on Google Play.
Does the app work without reception at the station?
An active data connection is required for the refueling itself, since the payment is processed in real time. Most stations have sufficient mobile or Wi-Fi reception. Your drivers can still view fueling history and saved receipts offline at any time.
How secure is paying with the app?
Every payment is approved by the driver in the app. Card data is tokenised, so the card number is not in circulation. And you can deactivate the driver account centrally in the dashboard with one click at any time.
Can my drivers install the app on their personal phone?
Yes. The DKV InstantFuel app runs on any private or company smartphone. A company device is not required. For your drivers this is often more convenient because they use their familiar phone — payments still run through your registered corporate credit card.
What happens if I switch phones?
When switching devices, the driver installs the app on the new phone and signs in with the existing credentials. The entire history is preserved. The old device loses access immediately.
Can I refuel without a plastic card?
Yes, the smartphone is the fuel card. At a connected station you select the pump in the DKV InstantFuel app, refuel and pay directly in the app, without going to the checkout. Payment is made with the company card your business has stored in the dashboard, as a credit or debit card. There is no physical fuel card and none is sent out. The receipt is created digitally, and the office sees every refuelling in the dashboard. The live map shows which stations are connected: around 12,000 stations in 10 countries.
